Courses #101 & #102

470 hours out of the 850 hour Certified Holistic Health Practitioner™ Diploma program. 

Add additional 300 hours if you take the optional #107 Shiatsu Spa Practitioner summer course!

Students receive the following training:

a) Fundamentals of Oriental Bodywork and Acupressure; Oriental analyses skills ~ tongue analysis, muscle testing, pulse analysis, Yin/Yang and Five Element theory; Anatomy, Physiology; CPR Level B ~ 45 hours; 

b) Table, Chair, Barefoot Shiatsu ~ 75 hours;

c) Jin Shin Do® ~ Basic 40 hours; Intermediate 55; Advanced 30; Eight Strange Flows (also known as Extraordinary Channels) ~ Bodymind Acupressure techniques; 

d) In depth Case Studies and Healership skills ~ 30 hours; 

e) Student Practicum consisting of hands on practice in all Oriental Bodywork techniques in a professional supervised environment ~ total 170 hours consists of: 100 logged client sessions; 54 hours of workshop attendance, 16 hours of office and business training in professional office situation;

f) Non-invasive Bodymind Counselling skills ~ 25 hours;

g)  Business Course ~ preparation of a Career Portfolio; Setting up a Professional Small Business and preparation of a personal Business Plan; Professional Ethics; Marketing and Advertising; Understanding Professional Associations and Liability Insurance ~ 25 hours.

 Specific pathological conditions studied may be as follows ~ Cardiac conditions; Hypertension (high blood pressure); Arteriosclerosis; Neuropathy; Insomnia; Trigeminal neuralgia; Occipital neuralgia; Brachial and Intercostal neuralgia; Sciatica; Migraine; Diarrhea; Constipation; Ailments of the Liver Hernia of the intervertabral discs; Whiplash-type injury or trauma to cervical vertebrae; and more.

Oriental Bodywork Therapist, along with its components, is taught for 470 hours out of the 850 hour Certified Holistic Health Practitioner™ program.  You may add an additional 300 hours by taking the Optional #107 Shiatsu Spa Practitioner course offered May 15 to July 31st yearly.

Unique to this program is the fact that our graduates will have the ability to take graduate courses in three different streams ~ 1. Oriental Bodywork; 2. Jin Shin Do® Module 1, or, 3. Shiatsu Spa Practitioner. 

Upon successful completion Graduates will be able to perform the following Oriental Bodywork sessions with clients:

Graduates receive along with their Diploma as Certified Holistic Health Practitioner™:

~ a Certificate in Oriental Bodywork that is recognized by the Association of Massage Therapists and Wholistic Practitioners (AMTWP);  

~ a Certificate by an authorized Shiatsu teacher that may be applied to future Shiatsu courses, as recognized by other Shiatsu teachers and Associations; 

~ a Certificate in Jin Shin Do® by an authorized Jin Shin Do® teacher recognized by the Jin Shin Do Foundation, BCATA and AOBTA;

in order to apply to various Associations.   

This course develops a high quality, confident practitioner.  Much attention is paid to graduates' ability to serve a wide cross section of the public, and to continue in Advanced study.
